Michigan man charged with DUI after 1-car accident with injuries

People on highways and roads are vulnerable because of the risks posed by drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol. Drunken driving is a serious hazard as it is a cause of fatal accidents on highways. Serious injuries and death are all too often caused by reckless drunken drivers

Recently in Jackson, Michigan, a person was charged with drunk driving after an accident. The accident caused injuries to four individuals including a pregnant woman. The person was charged with two counts of a felony but he did not contest the charges. His sentencing will be in March.

The authorities said that man was driving on Concord Road and caused an accident that caused injuries to his fellow passengers. One of the injured suffered pelvis and tailbone fractures. According to investigation reports, the vehicle was traveling at 80 to 90 miles per hour. The driver was intoxicated. He reportedly left the crash site and was caught a few miles away on the highway. The hospital personnel determined that his BAC level was 0.10.

The person accused of drunk driving should take prompt legal advice from a legal professional. Charges of vehicular homicide require a very detailed analysis of the police investigation report, medical and forensic reports and automobile expert report, which would help in determining the fault. Often, the investigation report has gaps in procedure and hence is not fit to be admissible. The witnesses have to be examined carefully. It also has to be taken into consideration whether the accident occurred due to a traffic violation or due to the actions of other travelers. All this requires the support of a meticulous legal professional who is experienced in handling motor vehicle accidents.
