5 Signs You are Too Drunk to Drive

5 Signs You are Too Drunk to Drive.jpgIf you have been out drinking with coworkers during happy hour, or if you are heading home after a holiday party, you may be wondering whether or not you are sober enough to drive. Fortunately, your cell phone may be of use in determining whether or not you should get behind the wheel. You can use your cell phone to call a cab or friend, or request an Uber or Lyft.

There are also several iPhone Apps that may be able to help you decide whether you are too drunk to drive as well. For example, "R U Buzzed," created by the Colorado Department of Transportation, is an app that provides an estimate of your blood alcohol content (BAC). "Last Call" is another popular app that asks for detailed information on the size and type of each drink ordered in relation to the amount of time you have been drinking. In lieu of using an app, you can also purchase a personal breathalyzer device. Some of the mini-breathalyzers can be clipped to a keychain. Remember, just having one drink may put you at risk of DUI. When in doubt, do not drive. Everyone reacts to alcohol in different ways. Several factors such as weight, height, prescriptions and food consumption impact a person's reaction to alcohol. Anyone who has a drink within one hour of leaving a bar is at risk of being charged with a DUI. The safest thing is to not drink and drive.

Here are the top 5 signs you may be too drunk to drive:

  1. Poor muscle coordination

  2. Impaired perception
