Two Michigan police officers could face DUI charges

Two off-duty Michigan police officers were allegedly drunk when they crashed the car that they were driving last month. In fact, at least one of the pair, the police officer who was driving at the time of the collision, faces potential DUI related charges. A warrant seeking a drunk driving charge has reportedly been sent to the local prosecutor's office for review.

Does profiling factor into Michigan DUI charges?

Michigan law enforcement officials will soon be cracking down and on the lookout for drivers who may be driving drunk. A statewide campaign has been working to help law enforcement better understand the tricks that drunk drivers use when trying to avoid law enforcement and DUI charges. Because of the way that law enforcement looks for drunk drivers, it is thought by some that they profile.

Michigan pastor faces DUI charges after driving nude

The Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit has suspended a Michigan pastor after learning of the charges against him. The pastor was arrested on DUI charges and indecent exposure when police say he was driving his car in the nude. He was arrested near Dearborn's Sacred Heart Parish where he preaches. He has since been placed on administrative leave.

Holiday weekend results in 126 DUI arrests in Michigan

As I expected, police officers were very busy over the July 4 holiday. According to numbers recently released, Michigan officers arrested 126 individuals for DUI for the period of July 1 through July 8. Of these arrests, it was reported that 23 had a blood alcohol content of .17 or higher. It can be expected that law enforcement will also be out in force patrolling our highways over the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend.

University of Michigan tailback suspended for DUI charges

I've spoken before about how DUI charges can be especially challenging for those well-known members of a community. One University of Michigan football player is finding this out the hard way for himself. He has been suspended indefinitely from the team in the wake of DUI charges filed against him by authorities.
