DUI charges for Michigan mom after daughter reported her

It is not often in this column that we talk about children. More often, as many of my Michigan readers know, I discuss stories about people in our state who have been charged with a DUI offense. Today, however, our report involves a young girl who recently made the grown-up decision to tell authorities when she thought that her mother had had too much to drink to drive.

Michigan man faces DUI from driving a wheelchair

Usually when I post on my blog, I talk about drunk driving cases involving cars. However, in one recent case, a man was arrested and charged with a DUI after he allegedly took a motorized wheelchair for a ride while intoxicated. This unique incident, which occurred in the city of Utica, resulted in the 55-year-old man's seventh arrest for drunk driving, dating back to 1984.

Study says driving sleepy is nearly the same as driving drunk

As many of my readers in Michigan know, I often talk about the reasons that people end up behind the wheel of a car after drinking. It can be easy for some to end up with a DUI charge after only a couple of drinks with dinner. It is very common, I have noted, for someone to not realize that they are intoxicated when they get behind the wheel.
