Practice Areas Overview

Divorce/Family Law & DWI/Criminal Defense

If you need an experienced, compassionate and openly communicative attorney to handle a family law or criminal law matter, I can help. My name is Stacey M. Washington, and I devote my legal practice to a select number of areas, including:

  • High-asset divorce
  • General family law matters in the context of an ongoing divorce (e.g., custody, support, visitation, paternity)
  • Post-judgment modification/enforcement matters for former divorce clients
  • DWI
  • General criminal defense
  • College student defense (DWI and other criminal charges)

I represent people in family law and criminal law proceedings throughout Washtenaw County. If you need to speak with an experienced lawyer about a family law or criminal law matter, contact my Ann Arbor law office at 734-274-6567.

Contact me for personalized and effective assistance with these and other matters:

  • Family law: I handle a wide range of family law matters including divorces, custody and visitation disputes, post-decree modifications, child support, spousal support and prenuptial agreements.
  • High-asset divorce: When high assets are involved, divorce can become much more complicated. I have more than 20 years of legal experience and have handled many high-asset divorce cases. If your case involves complex property division issues like business valuations, retirement accounts, property tracing and commingling of funds, I can help.
  • DWI/DUI/OWI - Although drunk driving is a crime, it is so common and so individualized that I mention it separately to distinguish my experience in this unique area of criminal law. As a former prosecutor and as a current defense attorney, I have extensive experience in DWI/DUI/OWI cases.
  • Criminal Defense - I handle a wide range of misdemeanor and felony criminal charges, including DWI/DUI/OWI, underage DUI, marijuana possession, assault and battery, theft and misdemeanor traffic tickets.
  • College Student Defense - A significant part of my criminal defense practice is devoted to underage offenses. I defend college students who attend local universities, including the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and Washtenaw Community College. If you are a college student charged with underage DUI, marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, minor in possession, distribution to minors, fake ID, theft, assault, noise violations, urinating in public (UIP) or another criminal charge, I can help.
